Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, continues to express alarm as Russia strikes
Efforts are currently ongoing around the country to mitigate the effects of Russia’s strike. This was one of the largest attacks, with over a hundred missiles of various varieties and approximately a hundred “Shaheds.
” This operation, like most previous Russian strikes, was equally stealthy, focussing on crucial civilian infrastructure. The energy sector has suffered severe damage, but restoration efforts are already underway in all areas affected by power outages.
Our allies must keep the promises we made together, particularly regarding air defence systems and missiles for them. Beyond that, we must finally coordinate our efforts to knock down Russian missiles and drones. Today’s objectives included Volyn, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil.
Across Ukraine, we could do far more to save lives if our European neighbours’ aviation worked in tandem with our F-16s and air defence systems. If unity has proven beneficial in the Middle East, it must also work in Europe. Life has the same worth everywhere.
Putin can only act within the constraints set by the globe. Weakness and insufficient responses exacerbate terror. Every leader, every partner, understands the decisive acts required to end this war justly. Ukraine cannot be limited in its long-range capabilities while terrorists face no such constraints.
Our defenders cannot be confined in their weaponry when Russia deploys its whole arsenal, including “Shaheds” and North Korean ballistic missiles. America, Britain, France, and our other allies have the power to assist us put an end to this atrocity. Now is the moment to take decisive action.
