Former Super Falcons Goalkeeper Switches to Bus Driving Job in UK

A former Super Falcons goalkeeper Rachael Aladi Ayegba has found a new life outside football after years of playing the game at the highest level before going on to obtain a coaching license.

Ayegba, who played for the Falcons at the 2007 Women’s World Cup in China, the 2006 and 2008 African Women’s Championships and had an 11-year stint as a professional player in Finland, has now turned to bus driving in the United Kingdom.

According to the UK’s Evening Standard Newspaper, bus drivers’ pay starts at £26,000 ‘over N14m’ and rises to more than £31,000.

EPL Shay Given names best goalkeeper in Premier League

Former Irish goalkeeper, Shay Given has named Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson as the best in the Premier League.

Ederson got the recognition ahead of Chelsea stopper, Edouard Mendy and Liverpool’s Alisson Becker.

The Brazilian shot stopper has so far this season kept seven clean sheets in the Premier League, helping City to the top of the league table after 15 matches.

The Brazil international has won the Premier League’s Golden Glove Award for the most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in each of the last two seasons.

And former Premier League keeper, Given believes that Ederson’s ability with his feet, as well as his hands, means that he is still the best in the league.

EPL: Folarin Balogun to leave Arsenal – Per Mertesacker

Arsenal academy director, Per Mertesacker has insisted that striker Folarin Balogunto is set to leave the Gunners in the January transfer window.

Mertesacker said this while speaking at the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust Christmas Event ahead of their Premier League with Southampton on Saturday.

According to him, Balogun, who is considered one of the most promising talents to emerge from Arsenal’s youth system in recent times, would ‘likely’ leave Emirates on a temporary basis in a bid to get regular playing time.

Balogun is currently not playing regularly under Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta.

4.Chelsea don’t have what it takes – Hamann names club to win Premier League title

Former Liverpool star, Dietmar Hamann, has said that Chelsea will fall behind Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea were sitting at the top of the Premier League table before their clash against West Ham last Saturday, having only lost one of their opening 14 top flight matches and conceding a league-best of six goals.

The 3-2 defeat to West Ham saw them drop to third, two points behind City in first and one behind Liverpool.

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has predicted some of the Premier League match-day 16 fixtures.

Chelsea will host Leeds United on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge, while Liverpool will tackle Aston Villa at Anfield. Norwich City will face Manchester United at home on Saturday evening, while Arsenal will clash with Southampton at Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City will host Wolves on Saturday afternoon at Etihad.

Providing his predictions, Merson told Sportskeeda: “I don’t see Wolves scoring a single goal against Manchester City. They can hold on for quite a bit and have been tight at the back, but they just aren’t able to find the back of the net. I thought Wolves did very well against Liverpool last week, but they’ve got to take their chances when they push forward.

 EPL: Rudiger offered £400,000 to leave Chelsea

Antonio Rudiger has been offered a whopping £400,000-a-week deal to leave Chelsea.

The German defender is entering the final months of his current deal with the Blues and will be free to talk and reach contract agreement with foreign clubs from next month onwards.

Thomas Tuchel’s side had hoped to persuade the Germany international to extend his stay, but are increasingly resigned to losing him.

Chelsea have made an offer believed to be worth around £140,000-a-week but the defender felt he deserved a much bigger salary on par with the club’s highest earners.
