Darwin Nunez reveals why he ignored other club to join Liverpool

Liverpool’s new striker, Darwin Nunez, has spoken for the first time since he completed his £85m move from Benfica.

The Uruguay striker has signed a six-year contract with the Reds.
The deal is subject to a work permit and international clearance.

Darwin will wear the No 27 which was vacated by Divock Origi this summer.

The 22-year-old scored 34 times for Benfica in all competitions last season, including goals in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final defeat to Liverpool in April.

Newcastle Utd: Set to secure five players for £12m, with an eye double paris Saint-Germain raid

Newcastle United could hijack West Ham’s move for on loan goalkeeper Alphonse Areola as they reportedly eye a double raid on Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The Magpies are looking to add another five players to their ranks this summer, following the capture of Matt Targett from Aston Villa for around £12million.

And a move for Areola is one under consideration, according to French outlet RMC.

Further to that the Magpies are also reportedly keeping an eye of the situation regarding France youth international striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, who is on the books at PSG.

Areola spent last season on loan with the Hammers, but acted as understudy to Lukasz Fabianski in the Premier League for much of the campaign.

The former Real Madrid keeper was, however, used more frequently in David Moyes’ men’s run to the semi-final of the Europa Leauge, playing 11 games on the route to the last four.

Arsenal Transfer Window: moves with serious intensity to secure Premier League star

Arsenal reportedly seem to be intensifying their efforts to seal a transfer move for Leeds United winger Raphinha.

The Brazil international has been a joy to watch in his time in the Premier League, and it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see him make the step up to a bigger club this summer.

It seems the Arsenal transfer rumours are now really gathering pace, following a report from the Telegraph earlier this week linking the Gunners with Raphinha.
Now journalist Toni Juanmarti adds that he’s heard the north London giant have been moving for the 25-year-old with “more intensity” in the last few days…

This would be a fine move for Arsenal if they could pull it off, with Mikel Arteta undoubtedly in need of an upgrade on Nicolas Pepe in the wide-forward department.

Barcelona getting desperate in race to sign Raphinha, willing to swap defender who Wolves have already rejected.

Man Utd: Owners the Glazers in the spotlight as three players moves to join club

Manchester United fans are growing impatient with the Glazers yet to sanction any signings at Old Trafford. And that’s put them in the spotlight when it appears three players want to move to the club. Interest in the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Pau Torres and Jurrien Timber has been well-documented in recent weeks, ever since the transfer window reopened.

Manchester United need an overhaul this summer.
They’ve already cut loose some deadwood, with the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Lee Grant all leaving on free transfers.
But, now, the onus is on the Glazers to deliver some signings.

It was only recently that Avram Glazer, in a rare public exchange of words, insisted they’ve always spent the money and will do so again this summer.

Yet while Tottenham have brought in two, Arsenal have landed Marquinhos and Manchester City and Liverpool have snapped up Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez respectively, United are yet to act.

EPL: Bristol City rejects £9m offer for Cletic and West Ham Target

Bristol World claim English Championship side Bristol City have rejected a £9million offer for striker Antoine Semenyo – amid reports that Celtic and West Ham are showing interest in the London-born star.

Semenyo, 22, enjoyed an excellent campaign for Bristol City during the 2021-22 campaign – although he will have wanted to score a few more goals. He netted eight times, but laid on an impressive 12 assists.

Reports in March said that both West Ham and Celtic were interested in the Ghana international. But nothing has come to fruition as of yet, with Bristol City holding out for a fee of £20million if they are to let Semenyo go.
Now, the interest in Semenyo is ramping up.

Bristol City have turned down a £9million offer from an unnamed club, with the Robins seeking more than double that fee. His contract ends

Semenyo looks as thgh he is going to be a proper talent. Still only 22, he has already played 137 times at senior level. Goals, assists, pace, trickery and versatility in the final third, he is destined for the Premier League.

But Bristol City are not going to get the £20million they crave and that is because of Semenyo’s contract. The Robins need to sell this summer to bring in some cash for his signature, meaning his price tag will reduce.

If Bristol City get an offer between £10million and £15million, then they really have to consider it. Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson said this .

Barca Transfer: ” I am at the biggest club in the world”- De Jong refutes reports on joining Man United

Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong says he is happy at the ‘biggest club in the world’, Barcelona, but is ‘flattered’ by Manchester United’s rumoured interest.

The player, however, told reporters last night that he has no update on a potential transfer and remains happy at Nou Camp. The 25-year-old has emerged as a top target for new Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag as the Dutchman looks to bolster the Red Devils’ midfield this summer.
Barcelona are understood to be holding out for as much as £70million for the Netherlands international.

De Jong is said to have opened the door to a potential move to Manchester United after turning down the move initially.

Speaking after helping Netherlands beat Wales on Tuesday night in Rotterdam, De Jong said of United’s approach, “You’re always flattered when teams show interest in you as a player.
“But, as you say, I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment and I feel fine there, so no news”.
