Man Utd Report: Erik ten Hag finally convinces Frenkie De Jong to join club

Erik ten Hag has successfully convinced Frenkie De Jong to move to Manchester United this summer – but the Red Devils are yet to agree a fee with FC Barcelona, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Ten Hag, who previously coached the Dutch midfielder at Ajax, launched an “irresistible charm offensive” and has managed to convince De Jong that his future lies at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have had an initial bid of around £60m rejected by FC Barcelona but the Red Devils are hoping that a fresh offer of around £68m plus a package of add-ons will help to seal the deal, the story says.

Liverpool: Benfica set to engage Darwin Nunez, in a deal worth 100m

Benfica have reached an agreement with Liverpool for forward Darwin Nunez for an initial fee of €75 million ($78.59m), the Portuguese club announced on Monday.

ESPN reported on Sunday that Liverpool had agreed to break their transfer record to land the 22-year-old striker in a deal that could be worth up to €100m, if €25m in add-ons are met.

A Benfica statement said: “The agreement provides for the payment of a variable remuneration, so the global amount of the sale could reach the amount of €100m.
“The aforementioned agreement is dependent on the signing of the player’s sports employment contract with Liverpool FC.”

Liverpool have seen off competition from Manchester United and Arsenal to sign Nunez, who moves to Anfield on a five-year contract.

Newcastle Transfer Report: Eager to sign 24 year old for £17m

According to Football Italia, Newcastle are now ‘pushing’ to sign Juventus loanee Merih Demiral.

The Turkish international spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Atalanta, who have been handed the opportunity to sign the 24-year-old for £17m.

However, it seems the Serie A side are yet to make a decision on a permanent move – they’ve just missed out on European qualification and have financial troubles – meaning an opportunity could arise for Newcastle.

Football Italia report that we are are admirers of the 6ft 4′ defender, while Tuttosport have also released a piece on the Sassuolo star, stating we are keen to bring the big man to Tyneside.

Ex Chelsea winger Musonda, on trial with new club to save his career

The end if the season saw the end of a few Chelsea careers for some of the players.

As contracts ran out, it was the end of an era for some players who have been at the club for quite a while.

Former winger Charly Musonda certainly fits that description, after leaving the club officially last week.
He’s been plagued with injuries and after so much hope for him initially, it all came to an abrupt end after what was a near career-ending injury.

He’s come through it though and although he wont be making it at Chelsea, he is currently attempting to save his football career elsewhere.

According the Belgian outlet HLN, Musonda will now will be on trial with Zulte Waregem for the next two weeks.Arsenal Update: Opens new bid of £51.2m for Victor Osimhen

Arsenal Update: Opens new bid of £51.2m for Victor Osimhen

Arsenal made an opening bid of around £51.2 million for Victor Osimhen, with Il Mattino reporting that Napoli immediately rejected the offer as they hold out for nearly double that amount.

Osimhen is one of the strikers Arsenal have on their radar this summer. Of course, they are not the only ones. Reports have suggested that Tottenham also want the Nigeria international.

He has been a consistent goal scorer in the last four seasons, reaching double figures in Belgium, France, and now Italy. Osimhen ended this past campaign with 18 goals in all competitions.

Understandably, Napoli have no intention of letting him leave on the jeep. The Serie A side will not consider anything less than £85million for the 23-year-old.
