EPL: Chelsea hijacks Arsenal’s bid to sign Raphinha

Arsenal are set to lose out in their bid to land Raphinha from Leeds United because they wasted time haggling over his player.

This is according to Sky Sports’ Melissa Reddy. Reddy tweeted: “Leeds were confident of getting their valuation of £55m+ for Raphinha given the interest in him. Arsenal had a head start, but Chelsea have worked themselves into pole position by agreeing a fee rather than haggling.”

Raphinha, 25, has become one of the most wanted forwards in Europe.

Barcelona were long-time admirers, while Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea were also keen on the Brazilian.

Leeds were understood to be demanding a fee far in excess of £50m.
Arsenal were the first from the English clubs to test the waters, lodging a bid below £40m.

Chelsea on Tuesday stepped in to hijack the deal with an offer worth an initial £60m, potentially rising to £65m through add-ons, with the main part of the fee due to be paid up front and immediately.

I’m really happy to be back in Inter Milan- Romelu Lukaku admits as he leaves Chelsea

Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku, has said he is happy to be back in Inter Milan, as he prepares to seal a one-year loan deal.

However, the Belgium striker has endured a tough year back with the Blues and was keen to move back to Serie A.

Romano tweeted: “Romelu Lukaku has just landed in Milano, 6.30am Italy time: I’m really happy to be here. It’s gonna be his day to sign contracts for a comeback to Inter Milan.

Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp refuses to accept club’s latest transfer business

Jurgen Klopp has refused to accept Takumi Minamino’s time at Liverpool did not work out.

Minamino sealed his Anfield exit to Monaco last night for a fee that could reach up to £15.5 million.

The Japan international joined the Reds in January 2020 from Red Bull Salzburg – but was a peripheral figure for much of his time on Merseyside.

Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and most recently Luis Diaz were all ahead in the attacking pecking order.

However, Minamino did finish as Liverpool’s top scorer on the road to both FA Cup and Carabao Cup glory last season.

And because of those contributions, coupled with the high levels he displayed in training, Klopp insists Minamino was a ‘manager’s dream’ to work with.
