Transfer Report: Lewandowski gives childish reason for not joining Chelsea

Cezary Kucharski, a former agent to Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski has said that the 33-year-old is afraid of playing in the Premier League.

According to him, the Poland international is not fully confident he is capable of thriving at Chelsea. This is coming amid speculation he has rejected a move to Chelsea and set his mind on Barcelona.

The prolific striker is determined to leave Bayern Munich this summer and Chelsea are keen to sign the 33-year-old.

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has the backing of new owners to bring in new faces, having deemed club-record signing Romelu Lukaku surplus to requirements.

Tuchel is said to have earmarked Lewandowski as the ideal replacement for the Belgian but the Poland captain is said to be worried that it rains too much in England.

Man Utd: Erik ten Hag still in chase of De Jong , club yet to sign a single player this season

Manchester United have seen plenty of players depart the club since the end of the 2021-22 Premier League season last month, but haven’t replaced a single one as things stand, in what has already become a frustrating summer for new boss Erik ten Hag.

Nonetheless, the Red Devils remain locked in negotiations with Barcelona for the sale of Frenkie de Jong, who have set their price tag for the Dutchman, while reports in Portugal suggest that Man Utd are leading the race to sign Porto midfielder Vitinha.

Manchester United are failing to give up in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, as Erik ten Hag continues to eye a reunion with his former Ajax player this summer, in what would be a huge signing to begin his era in the Old Trafford dugout.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, via Manchester Evening News, the Catalan club want a guaranteed fee of €85m (£73m) for de Jong, and conversations are still ongoing between the two clubs, despite the Dutch international expressing his desire to remain at the Camp Nou next season.

United are yet to sign a single player this summer but it is hoped that by securing de Jong, it would help to persuade other top targets to join the club if they can see that a high calibre of player are also being brought in to play alongside them for next season.

Chelsea: O’Hara blast Romelu over poor performance after rejoining club

Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Jamie O’Hara, has hit out at Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

O’Hara said Lukaku has been an absolute disaster since rejoining the club from Inter Milan last summer. Chelsea signed Lukaku for a club-record £101.7m in the summer of 2021 from Inter, but he struggled for consistency.

“His performances were not really good enough. It looks like he’s lost his confidence. I think Lukaku is one of those players who need to have an arm around him by the manager to really give him that belief. Thomas Tuchel didn’t give him that.

Arsenal: Fabio Vieira set to join club, he made a huge impact for Arteta

Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Fabio Vieira, FC Porto has confirmed in a statement.

The Liga NOS side confirmed that the Gunners have agreed to sign the 22-year-old for a fee of £34 million, a figure which includes a potential £5 million in add-ons. The young creative midfielder scored six goals and registered 14 assists in 27 appearances for FC Porto last season, of which just 15 of those were starts.

Porto released a statement on Friday, which read: “Deal complete for the amount of €40m, and of these, €5m are dependent on the achievement of sports objectives”.

That was because of a fresh meeting in which Barca were expecting to agree a new deal in principle.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, that’s not what happened, and far from it.
The report claims there are still differences between the two parties in the negotiations, and a deal is not at all imminent.

That was made clear after the latest meeting, and it could breathe more life into the Liverpool and City rumours, despite the Spain international wanting to stay at Barcelona.

Rangers wonderkid Rory Wilson accepts £350k bid from Aston Villa

Villa’s swoop for Rangers wonderkid Rory Wilson will be completed free of Fifa’s intervention after the Scottish club accepted an initial fee of £350,000.

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has gone back to his old club for Wilson

The terms of the 16-year-old’s move south of the border had looked likely to be determined by the world governing body with the two clubs unable to agree a fee.

Rangers believed they were due more than what Villa were offering and that Wilson remained their player until December.

But he will now join Villa on July 1 after a fee which could rise to around £1million depending on add-ons was agreed.

West Ham: Two European clubs keen on signing Nikola Viasic

West Ham attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic has been attracting interest from clubs in Italy and Croatia, according to Dalmatinski.

The 24-year-old has found it hard to settle at the London-based club ever since making a move in the summer of 2021 from Russian club CSKA Moscow in a deal worth £30 million.

It is believed that West Ham manager David Moyes is willing to send the Croatia international on loan for the 2022/ 23 season.
