The Islamic State group has launched a video claiming to point out the killing of eleven (11) Christians in Nigeria.

ISIS mentioned it was a part of its not too long ago declared campaign to “avenge” the demise of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi following a US raid in Syria in October.

No details got concerning the victims, who have been all-male, however, IS says they were “captured in the past weeks” in Nigeria’s north-eastern Borno State.

The 56-second video was reportedly produced by the IS “news agency” Amaq.

According to BBC reports, the video was launched on 26 December and analysts who took close examination had said it was timed to meet up with Christmas celebrations.

Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari in the announcement on Tuesday condemned the obvious killings and called on Nigerians to not let themselves be divided alongside religious strains.

His statement read: “We should, under no circumstance, let the terrorists divide us by turning Christians against Muslims because these barbaric killers don’t represent Islam and millions of different law-abiding Muslims around the world,”

Though the president failed to point out the identification of the victims.

The aid agencies whose workers are being held by the “Islamic State West Africa Province” (Iswap) is yet to release a formal statement.

According to BBC examination on the footage video, it was recorded in an unidentified outside area.

One captive within the centre is shot dead whereas the opposite 10 are pushed to the bottom and beheaded.

The accompanying statement read: “We killed them as revenge for the killing of our leaders, including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and [IS spokesman] Abul-Hasan al-Muhajir,” said a member of the group’s media unit, according to Ahmad Salkida, a journalist who was first sent the video.
