The unintentional sabotage of a sacred cause: A tale of tragedy and betrayal

By casting aspersions on Simon Ekpa, have you not unwittingly weakened your position?

THE UNINTENDED SABOTAGE OF A SACRED CAUSE: A TALE OF TRAGEDY AND BETRAYAL

The Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Sanna Selin, has articulated a perspective that should strike a cord in the hearts of any true Biafra activist.

Listen to her “Simon Ekpa has been hindering bilateral relations. The cooperation between our two countries is going very well now, and the National Security Adviser has been providing all the evidence. I salute you for all the ongoing reforms in the country. They are not easy, but they are essential for the country. Finland has also been involved in peace mediation. Additionally, we see opportunities for Nigeria in the Energy sector. We can work together to make this a realizable dream.”

This revelation should serve as a profound awakening for those who have long cast Simon Ekpa as a Nigerian puppet, undermining the Biafran movement. Individuals like Patrick Ikem Chronicle, Chika Austine, Elochukwu Nicholas Ohagi and many others in the camp of IPOB-Nigeria DOS have propagated a narrative that now seems not only misguided but also self-defeating.

Can you all now acknowledge the folly, the narrowness, and the sheer distastefulness of those accusations you have echoed through the years? You have woven tales and slandered a man who sought in earnest to aid our cause, thereby muddying the waters of our struggle.

If Simon Ekpa were indeed an agent of Nigeria, would the same government demand his extradition from Finland? Wouldn’t they finance the Finnish government to protect him?

Ponder again the ambassador’s words:

“The cooperation between our two countries (Nigeria and Finland) is going very well now, and the National Security Adviser has been providing all the evidence. I salute you for all the ongoing reforms in the country.”

Doesn’t this suggest a stark reality—that Nigeria is not incline to unconditionally release our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? With Ekpa’s potential extradition on the horizon, under the administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, often dubbed a “drug kingpin,” what hope remains for Kanu’s release?

By casting aspersions on Simon Ekpa, have you not unwittingly weakened your position?

Moreover, it becomes increasingly clear that not only Nigeria but also international actors like the European Union and Algeria are actively countering the Biafran dream. Reflect upon this statement from President Tinubu Spokesperson @Bayo Onanuga:

“President Tinubu also received Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of the European Union, Mr Gautier Mignot, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Algeria, Hocine Mezoued. I must thank you for your record on safeguarding human rights in our country with the trial of Simon Ekpa. Nigeria is indivisible. We have endured turbulent times, and we do not wish to foster terrorism,’ President Tinubu remarked to the Finnish ambassador.”

We are surrounded by external forces arrayed against Biafran restoration, yet instead of a united front against these foes, you have turned your ire upon one of your own, essentially calling for his head to be hung on a spike.

Well done; you have played into the very hands you claim to resist.
