Information reaching Obinwannem News has it that not less than 25 people were burnt to death following an explosion of a tanker carrying petroleum products along the Benin/Sapele highway, around Koko Junction, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Vehicles not less than Ten were burnt as well, in the incident that occurred around 10: 25 AM on Wednesday.

According to Friday Akowe, an eyewitness, “I was there when it happened, the Tanker tried to avoid some death trap on the road mistakenly he falls down but didn’t explode immediately, it was when people come to see on how to help them that was when it exploded burning 25 people or more to death and beyond recognition, some vehicle around were burnt too”. the witness said.

Another Testimony from another witness who played anonymity while in a sobbing mood, said, “The Tanker exploded when it fall, stating that some traders were consumed by the fire of the explosion, he said it was just like a film, confessing he hadn’t seen anything like that before”.

However The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC arrived at the scene around 1:32 Pm the same day after the incident.
