SARS Extrajudicial killings: Release Tochukwu Onyebuchi Immediately-Barr. Ejiofor

The head of IPOB legal team, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor has called on the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, to release Tochukwu Onyebuchi whom they abducted in Anambra for no just cause.

Bar. Ejiofor made this known in a statement he posted on his Facebook account titled Extrajudicial killings going on in Awkuzu SARS detention facility and the demand for immediate release of Mr. Tochukwu Onyebuchi”. In the statement, he accused Rtd. CSP Nwafor for being the cause of the killings of many innocent people by the SARS in Awkuzu and also called for the End of SARS not banning them.

The statement reads; “Rtd CSP Nwafor started it all in Awkuzu SARS, many innocent souls were extra-judicially killed by him and his killer squad.

”I cannot forget in a haste the mysterious death of one Christian Okwummuo in Awkuzu SARS detention facility in 2014 January”.

“In an action we filed, for the enforcement of fundamental Rights of late Christian Okwummuo, SARS told Ihiala High Court that Christian Okwummuo was killed during a jailbreak in Awkuzu SARS detention cell, 48 hours after his arrest”.

“This falsehood was clearly verified on oath in the Counter Affidavit filed by the Police on behalf of SARS.

”In a later Judgement delivered in the Suit by His Lordship, Hon. Justice Ifeanyi Nweze, SARS was ordered by the court to produce the dead body of Christian Okwummuo for decent burial and consequently awarded a heavy cost against the police”.

“Six years after, AWKUZU SARS is yet to produce the dead body of Christian Okwummuo for decent burial. This should be an impossible task for them, because Christian Okwummuo fall into a category of the detainees who were killed extrajudicially, body dismembered and disposed off in line with their established practice”.

“#EndSARSNotBanSARS. Nothing should happen to Mr. Tochukwu Onyebuchi. All originating process filed in Suit No: HID/MISC/114/2020 Between Tochukwu Onyebuchi Vs Commissioner of police, now pending before High court No. 1 Idemmili Judicial Division, has been served on OC SARS Awkuzu”.

“Let the world be put on notice of the pendency of this Fundamental Right Suit, instituted to challenge the unlawful detention of Mr. Tochukwu Onyebuchi in the dreaded detention facility of Awkuzu SARS, for over three weeks. We, therefore, demand for his immediate release without further ado!”. The statement added.
