Report to Obinwannem Ama Igbo Gburugburu on the Status of Obinwannem Media Africa
Date: October 20, 2024
To: The Board of Directors, Obinwannem Ama Igbo Gburugburu
From: Nwokwu Chukwuemeka, Media Director, Obinwannem Media Africa
Subject: Status Report on the Performance, Progress, Difficulties, and Strategies of Obinwannem Media Africa
I am honoured to submit this report on the current state of Obinwannem Media Africa, covering the areas of performance, progress, challenges, and strategic direction, as per our mission to promote and preserve the rich culture, traditions, and history of the Igbo people.
1. Performance
Since my assumption of office, we have been actively working to lay a solid foundation for the full launch of Obinwannem Media Africa. Our initial efforts have focused on planning, developing content frameworks, and establishing communication channels with key stakeholders in the Igbo community. However, due to the unavailability of essential equipment, the actual production of media content, including videos, interviews, and street talks, has been delayed.
Despite these limitations, we have maintained our presence on social media and the Obinwannem News website, using available resources to publish articles and engage with our growing audience. However, we are yet to fully leverage our video production capabilities, which is crucial for our broader impact.
2. Progress
In terms of progress, Obinwannem Media Africa has successfully established key relationships with cultural custodians, scholars, and community leaders across the Igbo diaspora. We have also outlined several content strategies focusing on Igbo history, festivals, language preservation, and success stories. These efforts will significantly contribute to positioning Obinwannem Media as the leading platform for cultural preservation and dissemination once operational.
Furthermore, our team has prepared a series of content ideas and interviews that will be rolled out as soon as we acquire the necessary equipment to facilitate high-quality production.
3. Difficulties
The most pressing challenge facing Obinwannem Media Africa is the lack of essential equipment required to kickstart full operations. As enumerated in our strategic plan, the acquisition of a high-capacity laptop, video recording equipment, and editing tools is vital to producing high-quality content that resonates with our target audience, including elders, traditional institutions, scholars, and government officials.
Without these tools, we are limited in our ability to generate visual content, which is a core part of our media strategy. This delay has impacted our ability to attract sponsors, drive audience engagement, and fully execute our long-term objectives.
4. Strategy Moving Forward
In light of these challenges, our strategy remains focused on two key areas:
– Content Development and Audience Engagement: We will continue to develop written content and engage with our audience on platforms where we already have a presence, such as the Obinwannem News website and social media. This will keep our audience engaged while we work to resolve the equipment issues.
– Equipment Procurement and Partnerships: We are actively seeking partnerships, sponsorships, and contributions from well-meaning individuals and organizations to procure the necessary tools. The Board’s support in facilitating these partnerships will be crucial for our success.
Once the equipment is acquired, we will immediately commence high-quality video production, live interviews, and street talks, ensuring that Obinwannem Media becomes a trusted voice for the global Igbo community.
In conclusion, while Obinwannem Media Africa has made commendable progress in laying the groundwork, our ability to fully launch is being delayed by the lack of vital equipment. I kindly urge the Board to assist in securing these tools to enable us to fully implement our plans and meet the expectations of our community.
Thank you for your attention and continued support.
