Peter Obi yesterday visited the School of Midwifery of Holy Rosary Hospital, Emekuku, Owerri, and donated 15 million Naira for an infrastructural update.
He had earlier supported them with 10 million on August of last year.
The advancement of healthcare and education in our society has continued to be a driving force for me, as it remains the main index of development. It’s this basis that informed my visit today to the School of Midwifery of Holy Rosary Hospital, Emekuku, Owerri.
Over the years, I have consistently advocated for increased and more strategic investments in the critical sectors of education and healthcare – sectors that form the bedrock of any thriving nation. In particular, I continue to emphasize the urgent need to encourage the training and empowerment of healthcare professionals, whose roles are indispensable to national and global development.
During my visit, I had an engaging and enlightening interaction with the students of the institution. As part of my support, I made a donation of ₦15 million to assist the school in its noble mission of producing well-trained and highly competent healthcare workers.
Together, through sustained investment and shared commitment, we can build a healthier, more educated, and more hopeful nation. – Peter Obi
