Obinwannem News Owerri Professionals berates Uzodinma over alleged commissioning of fake roads in Imo

Owerri League of Professionals has criticized the executive governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, over the visit by President Muhammadu Buhari, divulged that there are no good infrastructural roads to earn commissioning executed by Hope Uzodinma administration.

President Buhari was on Thursday visited Imo State to commission roads built by Uzodinma’s APC led administration.

In a statement made by president General of Owerri League of Professionals (OLP), Chief Ohamara Anthony, which a copy was made available to Journalists said the act of commissioning a non-existent road is a clear mockery of the pains and agonies associated with the poor road infrastructure in the state.

OLP further noted that what transpired in Imo State today shows that the administration of Hope Uzodinma doesn’t care about the plight of Imolites.

It however urged the state governor to tender an immediate apology to the people of the State
The statement read in part, “Our attention has been drawn to stories in the media that President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo State today has yielded in the commissioning of the Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze Road. It has also been reported that the road in question was built by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

“What is even more outrageous is that we have seen pictures of an old portion of the road which was washed, repainted, decorated and presented to Mr. President. And this was today commissioned.
“While we thank the President for finding time to be in Imo to see things for himself, as the apex leadership body in the area with the purported road project, we feel deeply insulted by the entire charade and perfidy put together by Imo State Government. This act of commissioning a non-existent road has come to people as a clear mockery of the pains and agonies associated with the poor road infrastructure in our area.

“This has further reinforced our fears that the incumbent administration in Imo is not concerned about our plight, and is heartbreaking. We therefore demand an immediate apology from Senator Uzodinma so as to remedy to situation, while also urging the Governor to be alive to his responsibility of providing infrastructure to Imo people.
