Orlu community, known as Okporo in Imo State, were thrown into a state of panic over a dreadful incident that claimed the live of a community leader, beheaded by unidentified armed men on Monday, including the killing of five persons.

According to News available to Obinwannem, the armed men reportedly paraded his head on a table in a market in Okporo community, after beheading him.

However, the essence of the raid is not yet clear, but residents have accused it on criminal gangs, as well as native doctors who operates freely at night.

It was also discovered that hotel belonging to a business man, Chinoso Uba was razed, including his new car.

Although, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mike Abathan said earlier that search was ongoing in the forest to stop the activities of hoodlums.

A community source, who spoke to Vanguard on anonymity said that the incident began on Sunday night, the hoodlums moves freely in the night they kill and destroy properties, this has lead to despair as residents are living in fear.

“Even this Monday morning, we heard of strange movements by these men in Okporo community and people started running. What is happening in Orlu is creating fears everywhere. These criminals started by beheading our people and burning people houses, what do they want”, the source said.
