Obinwannem News Opinion: Christmas, A Celebration Of Falsehood - Enwelu Hananayah

The Jews did not know how sinful, deplorable and degenerate they had become even when Christ told them that they drew near to God with their lips, but their hearts were very far from him and in vain do they worship Him (Matthew 15:7-9).

This scripture was taken from Isaiah who lived in the 7th century BC (Isaiah 29:13). Christ quoted Isaiah 29:13 for it had been long when the Jews had become thus faithless.

Shortly after Christ had delivered the Jews from the Egyptian bondage, they believed there were two groups of people: the Jews and others. To them, Jews are God’s chosen people and others are Gentiles or the dogs. Gentiles are those who wallop in the darkness of falsehood- the uninformed and the lost.

Gentile is a term used by the Jews to describe non-Jews and those who did not know the true God, Yahweh. Even after Christ told the Jews that ‘they worship God in vain’, they were not bothered instead they turned around and accuse him a sinner, evil man, blasphemer and demon-possessed. Today, 95% of Christians are far worse than the Jews in everything! While the Jews rejected Christ as the Messiah, many Christians believe that Christ is not knowledgeable enough to tell humanity what to believe.

Origin of Christmas:
Mainstream Christians celebrate Christmas and believe that it honours the birth of Christ on December 25th. Ironically, December 25th was known to the pagan 1000 years before biblical the Messiah was born. Prophesy about the birth of Christ was proclaimed by Isaiah in 804 BC. However, Isaiah did not indicate when this son would be born.

Deceptively, Christians advocate that when Christ was born notwithstanding as long as his birth is remembered. This sounds good but how would one avoid being misled? This is a blind man leading others and the result will always be fatal. I believe that if God is God and all-knowing and all-powerful, any celebration not given in scripture is planting tares among the wheat. Does common sense not reveal that commemorating the birth of Christ on a wrong date is promoting false prophesy and everything it produces is associated with the devil?

Birth of Christ:
Prophesy about the birth of Christ was for the first time given by the Prophet Isaiah (Hebrew Yeshayahu). When we read Isaiah 9:6, it was prophesied around 804 BC. Unfortunately, Christ was not born within a decade after the prophecy. Until after the demise of the prophet, when Daniel became a prophet and through him, God foretold the birth of Christ as given in Daniel 9:24-25. Daniel’s prophesy came with time when Christ would appear when Christ would confirm blood covenant, when he would be cut off and destruction that would follow.

History is good but many people do not bother so much about biblical history. Amazingly, biblical history is life. History will help us to continue making the same by embracing the right way to secure the future. Therefore, when the Messiah was born is traced to the prophecy of Daniel alone.

Daniel chapter 9:24-27 writes, ‘Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people (people of Israel) and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness (herald the establishment of the Kingdom of Yahweh on earth), and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and during the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate’.

Daniel chapter 9 tells us precisely when the Messiah the Prince was born by providing 70 weeks. Seventy weeks is 490 years. It spans from 457 BC through 33 AD. Regrettably, Christendom believes it is numerical 490 times because, Peter asked Christ in Matthew 18:21-22, how many times a brother would offend him and he forgives? Seventy times seven employed by Christ is from Daniel 9:24. Christ was telling Peter that he would abandon Israel at the end of 70 weeks for being unfaithful to the covenant between them.

Period time:
Period time is when the prophesied event is fulfilled. It is true, Isaiah predicted that a ‘child is born unto us’….. but this child was born 800 years after Isaiah, unknown to the Prophet. Isaiah did not provide time – period for fulfilment. He made an open declaration. Christ was born after all but, he was not born in December.

December coincides with Biblical tenth month. In Greek, Decagon is a ten-sided shape. Octagon is the eight-sided shape, Nonagon is nine-sided shape respectively. Again, none of the feasts given in Leviticus 23, is being observed in the tenth month. Observance of feasts ends in September/October – the biblical seventh month. While December is the end of Romans year, the month of March ends earth’s year with the new moon on or after the spring equinox. This new moon is earth’s new year day.

Those who do not know anything oppose everything they did not believe. The Jews did it and got lost spiritually. There is a need we learn from the past. One Roman Catholic Priest said in a Book, I quote, ‘Any person who did not want to know what happened before he was born will remain a child forever’. This statement is correct but how many Christians want to explore the origin of Christmas? That Christ is associated with it does not make it Christ-centred.

Many Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas believing that Christ was born on December 25 truly. The origin of Christmas is necessary because, God has warned believers to keep his commandments, laws and statutes. Fortunately, of all the religious feasts given in the scripture, there is no birthday feast. Under the new covenant, Lord’s Supper is the only religious feast- celebrated at the appointed time in April.

Christmas is not a biblical feast nor does it glorify the humble Saviour who lived on earth for thirty- three and a half years with no mention of commemorating his birthday. However, Christ demands believers to remember his death which is the foundation of the new covenant in the blood (Luke 22: 19-20). Passover feast was originally given to the Jews in Egypt. This is the reason Christ instituted Lord’s Supper on it. For the feast of Passover, the Jews demanded to select an unblemished lamb of one year old to be slaughtered on the 15th day of Abib. Abib is the first biblical month (Exodus 12:2).

Abib is not January. January was named after Rome idol called Janus. He had two faces- facing past and future respectively. Rome is a pagan nation. How many Christian researchers know this? Therefore, there are 75 days apart between January 1 and earth’s New Year Abib 1st.

The death of Christ:
Christ paid the price of the sin of the whole world on Abib 15 (April 7th) and rose from the dead three days later on Abib 17th (April 9th) inclusive reckoning. Apostle Paul writes in Romans 5:10 that we are reconciled with the death of Christ and saved through his life. Throughout the time of the Apostles, no person ever heard of celebrating the birth of Yeshua ha Maschia (Jesus Christ in Greek).

Rome destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD and the remaining disciples of Christ fled the city. After Rome did that, Church of Rome usurped the prerogatives of the Apostles and counterfeited most sacred documents, spoke against the most Holy and persecuted the saints for 1260 years according to Daniel 7:25. Christmas is no different from Easter. Easter is a Canaanite female goddess called Ishtar.

Wonder at this: Christians believe that Christ resurrected on Easter Sunday. Regrettably, Easter originated from Ishtar which is Canaanites female goddess. How could Christ resurrect on a female deity? This exposition is an open secret.

Thousands of Encyclopedia and historical books testify to the pagan origin of Christmas and its concubine, Easter. It is a pity that when it comes to researching for what is the truth about God and his ways, world-renowned researchers become blind onto destruction. Please, remain very blind!

From the Book, Little Known Facts For Every Catholic’ by Simeon Onyebuchi, with Imprimatur by Rt. Rev. Dr P.F. Sheehan OSA (Catholic Bishop of Kano Diocese), Copyright December 2001, Page 7, item 3 reveals: “Christmas, the feast of the birth of Jesus Christ had been variously celebrated by the Latin Church on March 28, April 13 and May 29 while the Eastern Church celebrated the feast on Jan. 6. Pope Julius I (337-352 AD) choice of December 25 was influenced by the fact that December 25 was already the date of major pagan festivals in ancient Rome.

This was the feast of the unconquered (the sun god, who was proclaimed the principal patron of the Roman Empire by the pagan emperor, Aurelian on December 25th in the year 274 AD.) The day also corresponds with the date of the winter solstice (when the days begin to lengthen to celebrate the renewed power of the sun.) It was also the day of the Roman Saturnalia (a festival dedicated to Saturn the God of Agriculture from whom Saturday is named.) It will interest you to know that the early Church (Roman Catholic Church) always transform pagan festivals whenever possible by giving them Christian meanings”.

It was Roman Emperor Aurelian in 274 AD who named December 25, Christmas day. December 25 is a feast day being celebrated by idol worshipers for 1000 years before the birth of Christ in the fall of 4 BC. This is the same thing that happened to Lupercalia on February 14. Rome renamed Lupercalia feast on February 14th in honour of god Lupercus St. Valentine’s day.

December 25 was and is and will remain the date of major pagan festivals in ancient Rome. Regrettably, Christians celebrate paganism in dishonour of Christ. I tell you what it is: A celebration of the demons. (Source: The Two Babylons by Hislop).

The beginning point of Daniel’s 70 weeks was year 457 BC. From Biblical history, Christ was baptized in the fall of 27 AD at the age of 30 years. Luke reported that Christ was thirty years of age at his baptism at the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar: Luke’s account: “In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene.

The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might be the Christ.” (Luke 3:1, 15). Within this context, Luke wrote, “When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my Son, whom I love; with you, I am well pleased.’ Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. . . .” in 27 AD (Luke 3:21-23)

Tiberius ascended to the throne on September 17, A.D. 14, during a Jewish civil year that ended about two months later. (November 10, A.D. 14.) So, Luke counted September 17 to November 10 as “year 1” because it was the year that Tiberius ascended to the throne. Therefore, the Jews regarded the following civil year, Tishri 1 to Tishri 1 (November 11, A.D. 14 to October 31, A.D. 15) as the second year of Tiberius.

Counting backwards places the birth year of Jesus Christ on Friday, October 15th 4 BC. Deceptively, many people would argue that any day we celebrate the birth of Christ does not matter. I see it as an attempt to justify December 25 that they have embraced. I look at them with a smile. This is another tree of the knowledge of evil.

I say to them, indeed they are greater than Christ and more knowledgeable than him. I pity this class of spiritual dead trees of the knowledge of evil. If celebrating the birth of Christ would be observed, I believe the first person to observe it should be the Messiah.

Then, his Apostles would follow suit. And it would become gospel for everyone. In this case, Christ never observed his birthday and his Apostles too never until 274 AD when a Roman Pope Julius 1 proposed it and Emperor Aurelian named December 25 the day for celebrating his unconquered sun god deity Christmas day.

Note: Rome ruled the world for 644 years from 168 BC – 476 AD. According to Bible Prophecy, Rome was against God of heaven (Daniel 7:19-20) just as the Jews were against Christ (John 1:10-11). Rome has gods up to 300. Jupiter, Bacchus, Cybele, Madonna, Venus, Lupercus, Dagon, Saturn, Mithra, Friggs and Thor, Sun and Moon are all Roman gods/goddesses to mention a few. Unknown to many Christians, the Statue of Jupiter is renamed St. Peter by the Church of Rome.

The big question:
The big question is, are you ready to begin following the real Christ? In times past God overlooked the ignorance of men, but today He commands all men and women to repent of ungodly activities, including observing manmade religious holidays (Acts 17:30).

If you are coming to understand that Christmas does not represent Christ, then you should take a stand and avoid its observance (Matthew 7:21; Luke 6:46). Why stumble between the truth and error? Why not start following the true Christ and His biblical teachings? (John 8:32; 17:17).
