Onitsha North LG Mayor visits Ani Onicha Shrine to ensure compliance with his order against trading in the area.

In a dedicated effort to uphold the sanctity of Ani Onicha, the Mayor of Onitsha North LGA, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, made his third unannounced visit to the shrine yesterday.

The purpose of this visit was to assess compliance with his directive for traders to cease all business activities in the area. Upon inspection, Mayor Nwora noted that the drainage systems were heavily clogged with refuse.

He promptly ordered the immediate clearing of the waste and the repainting of handrails and barricades to enhance the area’s appearance and safety.

This approach reflects the Mayor’s commitment to restoring order and respect to Ani Onicha, a site of great cultural and spiritual significance in the Onitsha kingdom.

Accompanying the Mayor were his cabinet members, including Hon. Ejiofor Egwuatu (Secretary of the Council) Hon. Tagbo Emodi (Chief of Staff) Ezennia Chukwunonso Chukwudebe (Chief Press Secretary) Hon. Chike Nwanosike (Supervisory Councillor for Health) Hon. Obidi Ifejika (Special Adviser on Political Matters) Hon. Chike Nwanolue (SA Special Duties) and Hon. Tochukwu Ibeakaeze (Community Liaison)

Mayor Nwora’s ongoing efforts underscore his dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of Ani Onicha and ensuring that it remains a revered space for the community.
