Obinwannem News Omoyele sowore re-arrested again on New year Eve

It can be recalled that on the 31st of December 2019, the human rights activist Omoyele Sowore was arrested by the department of state security, a body well known for their abuse of human rights in Nigeria.

However, after series of torture, abuses, court hearing and counter hearings, Sowore was released with a near impossible bail conditions. It can also be recalled that the man Sowore was arrested because he called for revolution and a change in the government.

Last night again, on a new year’s Eve, Buhari didn’t hide his despotic and tyrant nature as he arrested Sowore again alongside other activists. The reason for Sowore’s arrest is not unconnected with his #crossoverwithprotest plan, A planned protest across the country, the activist urged his followers via his Twitter handle to join the protest everywhere they are across the continent and beyond by simply raising a placard with their grievances written boldly on them, he also urged those who can to join him in a peace procession in Abuja on the new year Eve.

According to eye witness Sowore and his group were almost done with their protest when military vans stormed the area and arrested Sowore and other activists present on the scene. Eye witness also stated that Sowore was singled out for brutalization and was bleeding on the nose before he was roughly carted away with others.

Sources said they were taken to Abattoir police station Lokogoma Abuja and every attempt to get him on his phone has proven abortive which implies that they took his phone from him.

Here’s another proof that Nigeria is living in a democratic tyranny. A country that gives no room for peaceful protests, hopefully Sowore survives this one this time.
