Ohaneze Youths has called on the South East chairman, Governor David Umahi, to convoke a summit meeting of the Southeast governors to the ensure safe evacuation of people of the region from the troubled Jos.

According ‘The Whistler’ reports that Jos, Plateau State capital, has been boiling in the past few days following a religious crisis.

The national president of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, made the call while addressing newsmen in Owerri, Imo State.

He said, “The urgency of the security situation Jos led Benue and Kogi state governors to evacuate their students in Unijos, therefore both Southeast and Southsouth governors should immediately rescue and save the lives of Igbo students studying in the institution.”

The special assistant to the state governor on students’ affairs, Chidi Ilogebe, urged South East governors to evacuate” Igbo students in Unijos immediately.”

Obtained reports gathered from Obinwannem News, reveals that the government of Enugu State had begun the evacuation of students from the state out of Unijos following the escalation of the crisis.

However, Chidi, urged students from the state studying in Unijos to ‘liaise with the public relations officer of the University’s student union government for capturing and onward evacuation.
