Ohanaeze Ndigbo Hails Uzodimma’s Supreme Court Victory, Attributes Win to God’s Mercy
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has congratulated Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, on the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his electoral victory on Friday.
In a statement released on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, Ohanaeze praised Uzodimma for his perseverance and achievements, attributing his win to God’s mercy.
The Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Samuel Anyawu, challenging Uzodimma’s victory in the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Imo State.
Ohanaeze described Uzodimma’s trajectory as a demonstration of God’s mysteries, saying “it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.”
The organization commended Uzodimma for his “uncommonly large heart, audacious achievements, friendly finesse, and extraordinary perseverance” in overcoming obstacles.
This victory solidifies Uzodimma’s position as the duly elected Governor of Imo State, putting an end to the long-drawn legal battle.
