Organization says recent remarks by its CEO were intended to encourage reflection on integrity, accountability, and collective progress within the Igbo community.

NSUKKA, NIGERIAObinwannem Foundation Nigeria has issued an official statement addressing public reactions to recent comments made by its Chief Executive Officer, Mazi Ugwu Alexander Okechukwu, emphasizing that the organization remains committed to unity, cultural preservation, and the advancement of Ndi Igbo worldwide.

In the statement released by the foundation’s Corporate Communications Office, the organization acknowledged that the CEO’s remarks had generated varying interpretations across the Igbo community. The foundation said the clarification was necessary to promote understanding and reaffirm its core values.

According to the statement, Obinwannem Ndi Igbo Global & Company exists to promote the dignity, culture, heritage, unity, and development of Ndi Igbo around the world. The organization stressed that its mission goes beyond individual personalities, organizations, or ideological differences, focusing instead on preserving the Igbo language, celebrating cultural identity, empowering communities, and encouraging meaningful dialogue.

The foundation explained that the comments under discussion were intended as a call for reflection on integrity, accountability, and responsibility within the community. It stated that the remarks were not meant as threats, expressions of hostility, or wishes of harm toward any individual or group.

“The message was rooted in the belief that lasting progress can only be achieved through truth, sincerity, and commitment to the common good,” the statement noted.

Recognizing the diversity of opinions regarding the future of Ndi Igbo and the pursuit of collective aspirations, the organization urged community members not to allow differing viewpoints to create division. It described the Igbo people as a community historically defined by resilience, enterprise, and unity of purpose.

The foundation further called on stakeholders, media platforms, activists, cultural advocates, community leaders, and supporters of the Igbo cause to engage one another with respect, civility, and mutual understanding.

Reaffirming its mission, Obinwannem Foundation Nigeria said it remains dedicated to promoting the dignity of Ndi Igbo while upholding values of excellence, integrity, innovation, courage, and community service.

The statement concluded with an appeal for collaboration and mutual respect, stressing that the future of Ndi Igbo will be secured through cooperation and a shared commitment to the welfare of the people rather than through internal conflict.
