At least twenty persons have been arrested Saturday at the trendy toll plaza; amid the planned protest, under the banner of #OccupyLekkiTollGate.

Obinwannem News had previously reported EndSARS: Nigerian youths plan fresh protest amid decision to reopen toll gate Nigerian youths rallied (today) around the toll gate demanding justice for those ‘massacred’ during the #Endsars campaign.

The federal and State (Lagos) government had warned against fresh protests; deployed security operatives to guard the toll plaza.

Recall that majority (five members), out of the nine members of the panel led by Justice Doris Okuwobi (rtd), voted in support of reopening the tollgate at the last sitting on Saturday.

Nigerian youths did not accede to the decision of the panel to hand over the toll gate to its operators without justice served, and perpetrators of the reported ‘lekki massacre’ brought to book.

To express their dissatisfaction with the decision of the panel, the youths had to stage “#OccupyLekkiTollGate”.

The toll gate which ceased from operation since the October #Endsars protest became ‘busy’ in the early hours of Saturday morning as police vehicles, and other security personnels paraded the vicinity in a ‘show of force’ to repel the protesters.

In viral photos circulating the internet, armed men of the police were seen manhandling, beating up protesters.
