Real Madrid Transfer Update: Two Players set to secure a deal for Nicolo Barella

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to trade Dani Ceballos and Nacho Fernandez to Inter Milan to secure the signing of Nicolo Barella this summer.

According to Italian outlet CMW, Real Madrid are ready to step up their interest in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella and are prepared to offer two players in a deal to sign the Italian international.

Barella finished the 2021/22 season with a tally of four goals and 13 assists from 48 matches across all competitions. A part of the Italy squad that won UEFA Euro 2020 last year, the midfielder has attracted a lot of interest from clubs around Europe, with Real Madrid also casting admiring glances toward him.

Real Madrid have held an interest in Barella for quite some time now. However, recent reports had indicated that Los Blancos were willing to hold off until 2023 before pursuing him as a replacement for Luka Modric, who signed a one-year contract extension earlier this month. Given that they also signed Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco, there does not seem to be an urgent need for a new midfielder either.

The two players who will be offered by Real Madrid, as per CMW, are Ceballos and Nacho Fernandez. The former has been linked with a move to the Italian outfit in the past, while the latter, too, has recently emerged as a potential target for the Nerazzurri amid question marks over some of their current centre-backs.

‘You are not welcome’ – Inter Millan supporters tells Lukaku

Inter Milan supporters have warned Romelu Lukaku they won’t be welcoming him like any other important player arriving at the San Siro.

The supporters said they have not forgotten the Belgian’s ‘betrayal’ ahead of his move from Chelsea. Lukaku looks all set for a return to Inter Milan after the Italian giants and Chelsea agreed a €8 million (£6.8m) loan deal.

Lukaku angered Inter supporters last summer when he pushed to leave in his £97.5m move to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international, who left Inter just last summer, is returning to the club and Inter fans have told the striker that he will need to earn their trust.

Newcastle: Tends to endorse Nick Pope for a deal of £50m

Newcastle hope to tie up their move for England keeper Nick Pope before the weekend as he prepares to undergo a medical on Tyneside.

The 30-year-old is understood to be due in the north east this morning (June 23) with the Magpies and Burnley having reached agreement on a deal. Pope, who has spent the last six years at Turf Moor, would become head coach Eddie Howe’s second summer signing following the capture of full-back Matt Targett, who spent the second half of last season on loan at St James’ Park from Aston Villa.

Newcastle were remaining tight-lipped on the move on Wednesday, but sources have indicated they are closing in on their man, who would provide stiff competition for incumbent Martin Dubravka. Nick Pope was linked heavily with a move for Chelsea in August 2020 with a fee of around £50m.

The 80 per cent Saudi-owned Magpies are expected to invest significantly once again this summer after spending in excess of £90million in January, although Howe has tried to play down speculation that they could go even bigger this time around.

With sporting director Dan Ashworth now on board, the club is having to clear the decks at the same time as embarking upon another recruitment drive.

Arsenal: Saves £40m by opting for Leeds United’s Raphinha replacement

Arsenal have seen one bid rejected for Leeds United forward Raphinha, but with the Gunners hoping for another summer rebuild there could be a more prudent option available.

Arsenal have started what could become a drawn-out and very public process to sign Leeds United star Raphinha.

On Tuesday, the Gunners saw an opening bid for the 25-year-old rejected out of hand by Elland Road bosses, despite being insistent they wouldn’t blink first in negotiations. Raphinha has only been in English football for two seasons, but such has been his impact since signing from Rennes, he has the toast of Europe chasing his signature.

Along with Arsenal; Premier League rivals Tottenham and Chelsea hold an interest in Raphinha, who now looks almost certain to leave Leeds after masterminding their top-flight survival.

Transfer Report: Man Utd in swift negotiations with Watford to sign Daniel Bachmann

Manchester United have entered talks with Championship side Watford over the potential transfer of goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Red Devils currently have David de Gea as the number one goalkeeper with Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton being the second and third-choice options in the squad.

Regarding Romano, negotiations are underway between United and Watford over Bachmann, but the Hornets only prefer to lose him on a permanent transfer this summer.

Gareth Bale makes a decisive move to join English club after leaving Real Madrid

Gareth Bale held discussions with Cardiff manager, Steve Morison on Wednesday, as the Championship club makes an ambitious attempt to sign him, the Daily Mail reports.

The 32-year-old is now a free agent after his contract with Real Madrid expired this summer.

Bale is now looking to keep himself fit ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The winger visited Wales’ Vale of Glamorgan base, which they share with Cardiff, to receive treatment from his national team’s medical staff.
