The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Anambra State, Everestus Obiyo has called on citizens to support the organization in its effort toward promoting peace in the State.
Obiyo made the call in Awka on Wednesday, at a one day sensitization and evaluation tour of Peace and Conflict Resolution Unit, National Headquarters Abuja.
According to the commandant, the Corps has been in the forefront of promoting peaceful coexistence but still need the support of all stakeholders to develop ways and agree to work towards lasting peace in the state.
He urged all Nigerians to practice peace not only for themselves but for the sake of future generations.
Mr Obiyo also called on people to explore the alternative dispute resolution method or report any incidence of breach of peace to the nearest security outfit.
