Nigerian Police Foil Terrorist Plot, Arrest Suspects in Kaduna
Kaduna, Nigeria – In a significant breakthrough, the Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspect caught supplying military uniforms to terrorists in the state. The suspect was apprehended during a routine police operation on the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna highway with 15 pieces of unsewn military camouflage material intended for bandits.
According to Mansir Hassan, spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, the suspect confessed to delivering the materials to an accomplice in Udawa village, who would then hand them over to bandits in the Chukuba area under Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State for their operations.
The police are currently working with the suspect to arrest other accomplices at large. This arrest is a significant step in disrupting the supply chain of materials to terrorist groups in the region.
In a related incident, police officers in Makarfi LGA encountered a group of armed robbers who had blocked a road using logs of wood and stones. A shootout ensued between the police and the armed robbers, forcing the robbers to flee into the surrounding bushes.
Additionally, the police have arrested two suspects for stealing vehicles using a “master key”. The suspects, Abdul Mukhtar and his accomplice, were arrested while driving a stolen Mercedes Compressor. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities and to identify other potential accomplices.
