Nigerian immigration service office on fire

Obinwannem News Nigerian immigration service office on fire

Several important offices in Nigeria at one point or the other have been razed to the ground. If it’s not the Central bank today, it’s the building housing the Federation’s Office of the Accountant General tomorrow.

Many believe these incidents are connected and that whenever fire burns down an official building in Nigeria, it’s either the government wants to conceal their dirty work or that they want to destroy something which is mostly evidence of corruption.

The Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters in Abuja has been razed by fire in the early hours of Sunday. The Service disclosed this in a statement on its official Twitter handle The fire, which affected some of the offices in the headquarters, is still being investigated.

NIS tweeted, “A fire incident occurred in our service headquarters this morning. It affected some of our offices.‌

“The fire has been put out by our Federal Fire Station with support from other agencies around the airport.

“The cause of the fire is being investigated. We assure the public that the incident will not in any way affect the discharge of our services.
