Obinwannem News Neymar sets to extend contract with PSG

It was reported that the Brazilian professional footballer Neymar is close to signing a new contract deal with Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar’s existing contract with the French giants will expire in 2022.

Neymar originally signed a five-year deal at the Parc des Princes when he joined PSG from Barcelona on £200m move in 2017. The Brazilian superstar returned from injury to help club win Trophee des Champions against Marseille on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old is understood to be happy at PSG, at the moment; and the club is looking forward to “tie down” their star player to a long-term contract.

Neymar also made it clear he is keen to remain in the French capital after scoring a hat-trick in PSG’s final Champions League group stage game against Istanbul Basaksehir last December.

The former Santos youngster has scored 10 times in 13 appearances for the French champions this season, including his team’s second against Marseille in the Trophee des Champions on Wednesday night.

Neymar has netted 80 times in just 98 appearances for PSG in all competitions.
