NAFDAC Investigates Faith Healer Fufeyin Over Miracle Soap and Water Claims

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has launched an investigation into the activities of Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, founder of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, for allegedly using the agency’s name to market “miracle soap” and “miracle water” with healing powers.

Fufeyin claimed that his products could cure barrenness and other health issues, and that women who used the soap would give birth to twins. However, NAFDAC has not approved or registered these products, and the agency has received petitions from concerned citizens alleging that Fufeyin’s claims are false and misleading.

The Director General of NAFDAC, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, explained that the agency takes such claims seriously and will investigate Fufeyin’s activities to ensure that he is not putting the public’s health at risk.

The Critical Thinking Social Empowerment Foundation (CTSEF) has commended NAFDAC for investigating Fufeyin and has called for the agency to extend its investigation to all faith healers making similar claims. CTSEF director Leo Igwe stated that Fufeyin’s actions are not isolated and that many self-acclaimed prophets and faith healers are making reckless and irresponsible miracle claims, selling holy oil, holy handkerchiefs, and other “sacred” items to vulnerable individuals.

NAFDAC has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or claims made by faith healers to the agency for necessary action. The agency is working to ensure that all faith healers involved in such activities are prosecuted and penalized.
