The Nigerian Medical Association, Abia State Branch, on Friday, suspended the industrial action they embarked upon over their kidnapped colleague, Professor, Uwadinachi Iweha.
This resolution came after an Emergency General Meeting of the State Officers Committee to review the efforts put in by the Abia State Government and security agencies geared towards rescuing Prof. Iweha.
According to the doctors, after x-raying the entire situation as presented by the Government and security agencies, they resolved that work starts in all private and public health facilities in Abia State .
The situation, they said, will be further reviewed in the next 72 hours during the Ordinary General Meeting of the NMA Abia State on June 19.
The association in a statement however, warned that they may be forced to resume the suspended action if no further palpable progress is made in the next 72 hours
