Mr. Mba received the federal government’s 6th National MSME 2024 award yesterday in Abuja.
Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugwu state won the federal government’s 6th National MSME 2024 awards in Abuja Wednesday, recognising their contributions to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). We are glad that our modest efforts in this area have garnered national recognition.
In February, the government established a ₦1 billion fund to support our state’s Nano, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (NMSMEs). We’ve also expanded our support for traders, entrepreneurs, and IT aficionados in a variety of ways.
Following our campaign promises, we have prioritised capacity building, training at least 40,000 youths across the state each year in digital innovation, programming, digital marketing, financial technology, and entrepreneurship, among other necessary technological, financial, and business skills to compete in the global digital and entrepreneurial markets.
We have also used technology and smart education to link the Enugu economy with the expanding global digital economy, which provides possibilities for people to succeed.
We are currently transitioning from analogue and outdated ways of doing things to modern methods facilitated by technology and the use of electronic platforms in governance.
They applauded some of the modest efforts of our administration, including the Enugu State Geographic Information Services law, which we enacted to combat land grabbing. They also commended us for fighting against illegalities in property development and for our efforts to expedite the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and make Enugu State more livable.
They noted that our administration has repositioned Enugu as the right place to do business in Nigeria, expressing delight about the state’s 2024 budget, which consists of only 21 per cent recurrent expenditure amounting to N107.2 billion, and 79 per cent capital expenditure totalling N414.3 billion.
In my remarks, I thanked them for their kind words and reiterated our administration’s commitment to making Enugu State the premier destination for investment, business, tourism, and living. In Enugu, we are looking forward to partnering with the private sector, particularly in the land and housing development sector. We are ever ready and open for business.
