After the civil war in 1967, the Nigerian government did not only confiscate Igbo properties and wealth, they also waged a campaign to ensure they don’t get United ever.

First, it was Igbos don’t love themselves.
Now, it is Igbos are not politically wise.

The above two narratives are targeted mostly to Igbo youths. They are both fallacies, propaganda and not for your own good. We should not accept it, It is purely a psychological weapon.

Can your opponent give you tips on how to defeat him in a competition? If I may ask, When your opponent (in this case, Nigeria system) tells you things like that, don’t be deceived into believing he’s encouraging you. He is actually determined to make you hate yourselves and become political dummies for real!

Here is an example of how this psychological weapon corrupts the brain; Get yourself a child, full of life & potential, Start telling him that he is miserable, keep saying it to him, make him accept and believe it. That child will grow up to become a miserable person, very easy.

A very powerful opponent’s tool, don’t fall for it. Igbos residing in the non-eastern region are the easy target.
Most of them already have this belief system, avoiding their brothers like plague.

Igbos don’t hate themselves, they are actually the most United ethnic group in Nigeria. My reasons are as follows
a) There’s no place in the world, two or three Igbos reside that they don’t form an Igbo group that caters to the well-being of their members.
b) Igbos practice the apprenticeship system.

The most billionaire producing education system in the world. This is a show of love and trust and is peculiar to the Igbos.

Igbos are not politically unwise. Igbos are people that have a moral compass that drives their own actions. They can easily separate means from ends, they don’t sacrifice competency over personal gain.

Igbos made a decision of not voting incompetency and they stick to it. That’s bravery and something to be proud of and celebrated. This is who they are. Those trying to misrepresent this as not being politically smart do not mean well for the Igbo cause. The plan is to dissuade Igbos from moving through a common political front.

Igbos love themselves, Igbos have a conscience, respect each other’s opinion, and like to leave an independent life. Nobody should make you believe otherwise.
