Ugwu Alexander Okechukwu Calls for Understanding and Unity Among Ndi Igbo
Obinwannem Ndi Igbo Global leader says accountability and constructive dialogue should guide community development.
Mazi Ugwu Alexander Okechukwu has called for greater understanding, reconciliation, and unity among Ndi Igbo worldwide, following public discussions surrounding remarks that recently attracted widespread attention.
In a public address, Okechukwu sought to clarify his position, stating that his comments were never intended as threats, condemnation, or hostility toward any individual, organization, influencer, or community leader. He said his concerns were motivated by a desire to see the Igbo community thrive through integrity, accountability, and sincere leadership.
According to Okechukwu, some reactions to his remarks reflected differing interpretations of his message. He maintained that his intention was to encourage reflection and accountability rather than division, arguing that no community can achieve lasting progress when personal interests overshadow collective aspirations.
He emphasized that differences of opinion are a natural part of any vibrant society and should not become a source of conflict. Instead, he urged members of the community to engage one another respectfully, even when they disagree on important issues.
Mazi Ugwu also reflected on the objectives of Obinwannem Ndi Igbo, describing its mission as one focused on preserving Igbo culture, promoting identity, educating future generations, and contributing to the advancement of Ndi Igbo around the world.
He stressed the importance of placing communal interests above individual ambitions, noting that the progress and welfare of the Igbo people should remain the primary focus of all those working within the community.
Calling for a renewed spirit of cooperation, Okechukwu extended goodwill to individuals and groups committed to the development of Ndi Igbo. He encouraged community members to focus on shared goals rather than differences, emphasizing the need to build stronger connections and preserve the dignity of Igbo heritage for future generations.
