Several persons has been confirmed dead over Fulani herdsmen attack in a village, known as Ngbo community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Monday morning.

Report gathered by Obinwannem News reveals that many lost their lives, about 40 houses of innocent indigenes were set ablaze in Umu Ugadu, and Obodo Ocha villages, Umogodo Akpu Ngbo community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State

This is coming after the state government had put in modalities in place for the setting up of 1000 vigilante group across the State.

A source who confirmed the incident said, “They came into the community and started shooting intermittently and burning down houses. It took the intervention of some of our people who came out to engage them in gunbattle.

“We are suspecting the Fulani herdsmen, recently, because of the way they were dealing with farmers in the community. We are no longer comfortable with them, and we asked them to leave, and two weeks ago, they were sighted in the area around the community. So, they could be responsible for the attack.”

Lately, the herdsmen had attacked four communities in Ishielu local government area, where over 25 innocent rural dwellers were massacred in cold blood.

Actual number of persons killed has not been ascertain yet; no suspect has been arrested, or paraded by the Ebonyi state police command in connection of the killings, as at the time of filing this report.
