The plot: This centers on Mazi Ikechukwu’s family circus.
One day, Mr. Ikechukwu suddenly became worried about what and how to make his two children (Tiffany and Bryan) who were about to venture into the tertiary institution as sophomores better children in their academic journey.
He called on his wife for her opinion towards how they can advise their children better, most especially their total focus was on their daughter (Tiffany) who happens to be the bone in the throat among their children.
Bryan who happens to be the obedient one succeeded in coming out of school with good grades and became very successful in his career while Tiffany was expelled from school based on different charges of misconduct.
She ended up going back home where she became hopeless, helpless, devastated and pathetic about her lifestyle. It later dawned on her when Bryan came back home shinning and basking with life, from that moment she realized how she had thrown everything away in the course of living life her own way.
This should serve as a reminder that we ought to grab every opportunity to succeed in life before it becomes too late
Scene 1: Mazi Ikechukwu takes the stage pondering in his heart what better ways to advise his children who will be leaving for school. While alone, he felt the need to get his wife involved for her own opinion on this. Then he called on her (Obim….!!!). She came in with a response (dim oma….). While sitting, the husband tabled his concerns over their children who were about entering a new world away from home. After they both deliberated on that, they called their children in.
Mrs. Ikechukwu shouted aloud (Tiffany…Bryan!!!). They came in, though while at the spot Tiffany displayed her usual wayward attitude (what a bummer). While the advising therapeutic session was ongoing, Bryan took the parents advice, Tiffany stood up in contempt and ditched the gathering.
Bryan followed suit after appreciating his parents, Mrs. Ikechukwu left to resume her kitchen duty, while Mazi Ikechukwu also left the house to his friend’s down the street.
Scene 2: Now the children of Mazi Ikechukwu had arrived campus. During one of their campus days, Bryan was coming from a lecture; suddenly he bumped into his sister (Tiffany) with a boy sitting at the corner.
Bryan walked to her and quizzed, “aren’t you supposed to be in the classroom for lectures”? Tiffany replied in anger saying “what is your business with what I’m doing right here and now”? Then Bryan out of frustration lashed out at his elder sister “honestly Tiffany the truth be told, the life you are living on campus is uncalled for, our parents won’t be pleased with you at all, so why don’t you change for the better because they sent us to school to become better citizens of tomorrow” but Tiffany was never interested in the whole sermon her younger brother was preaching to her, so she angrily threatened to slap Bryan if he further continues to taunt her with those ”appalling” words. Then to avoid creating a scene, she fled the scene with the boy while her brother did the same.
Scene 3: The Ikechkwus were in the middle of a little family chat when Bryan walked in from a journey. After welcoming him, Bryan told them of his accomplishments and in awe, presented to his parents a car key to drive them around.
Then after appreciating Bryan, Mazi Ikechukwu turned to Tiffany with disappointment “you can now see the fruit of being a good child from your younger brother, he attended the same university we sent you but you bailed because of your character and attitude, now look at him.”
Tiffany at that moment felt so dejected and couldn’t control her tears by saying “had I known, I would have done better than this But I guess it’s just too little too late for that.
Ending note: My advice goes out to our youths of nowadays, to grab every good opportunity presented to us by our parents because they say that ”opportunity comes but once‟. Try to heed to their words because I believe they would not mislead us and even disobedience has its consequences.
Let us endeavor to learn from this very scenario with the Ikechukwus, and I believe there is no limit to what we can achieve in life if we follow the right direction.
