The new administration in the United Kingdom will endeavour to accelerate economic growth, modernise border security, and nationalise the country’s rail networks, King Charles III declared on Wednesday, reading a speech written by the Labour government he appointed. According to the address, these efforts were included into the more than three dozen measures that were planned to be introduced as the new government began its legislative agenda.

“Securing economic growth will be a fundamental mission,” the king declared. “My Government will seek a new partnership with both business and working people and help the country move on from the recent cost of living challenges by prioritising wealth creation for all communities.”

Democratic Senate candidate, Rep. Adam Schiff, urges Biden to withdraw from the US presidential race.

Rep. Adam Schiff, a prominent Democrat from California and current US Senate contender, publicly urged President Joe Biden to withdraw from the race on Wednesday. His announcement marks the most major demand from within the party for Biden to go since the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, CNN reported.

Schiff’s position is notable because he is not in a swing area and has a close relationship with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which sets him apart from other Democrats who have expressed similar misgivings about Biden’s candidature. Schiff stressed in a statement that, while the decision is ultimately up to Biden, he believes it is time for Biden to consider passing the torch.

Would secure Biden’s legacy and potentially boost Democrats’ chances against Donald Trump in the forthcoming election.
Schiff, who worked as the impeachment manager during one of Trump’s impeachments, has been a vociferous critic of the former president. While appreciating Biden’s successes, Schiff cautioned that the country is at a dangerous moment and questioned Biden’s capacity to defeat Trump in November.
