Owner of Online Television station, Punchline Africa, based in Kenya, Mr David Matsanga, has exonerated himself from accusations that he had a hand in the rearrest of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Matsanga, in a televised broadcast Wednesday, streamlined on Facebook, said Kanu was not abducted from Kenya, and asked the Nigerian Government to allow Nnamdi Kanu to tell world how he was abducted.
The Kenyan television owner affirmed his support for Biafra as well as Ambazonia, while insisting that his television station would continue to speak the truth regarding the injustice meted on the Biafrans.
Matsanga said: “This morning attention has been drawn to the propaganda circulating on social media, originating from Nigeria. Talking about the abduction, interception, kidnap by the Nigeria security agencies together with the international agencies of Mr Nnamdi Kanu. Who was interviewed by our TV station on the 21st May, 2021.
“As a result of misguided ‘toxins’ and as a result of propoganda from Buhari regime, that Mr Nnamdi Kanu was abducted or taken from Kenya.
“I do not speak for the Republic of Kenyan, I don’t work for Kenyan government. I am a media outlet online that wax for Africa. My TV station has been voluntarily defending the people of Biafra and Ambazonia from the forces that has oppressed them.
“We did not approach Nnamdi Kanu for an interview, Mr Nnamdi Kanu approached me through his representative in Australia asking for Nnamdi Kanu to be interviewed on our TV station. Our TV station does not harbour conspiracy, it speaks the truth, especially from myself regarding the sufferings of the people of Ambazonia and Biafra.
“We took interest in the Biafra issue and Southeast issue, because of the very millions of videos that were sent us as an online broadcasting institution.
“Mr Nnamdi Kanu is able to say where, who, how he was arrested by Nigeria security agencies and other international agencies, if Nnamdi Kanu is still alive in a prison in Abuja. If the federal government of Nigeria still points finger on our TV station, I ask God to take me out today, if Nnamdi Kanu says he has talked to Matsanga since 21st when we last have the interview.
“I want to make it categorically clear, that abduction, seduction, kidnapping will not deter my television station from talking about the ill treatment, human rights abuses, poor treatment, bad treatment of the people of Biafra.
“I am not a Nigerian; I am not a Biafran. I am not paid by any Nigerian to speak my mind. I am a trained executive journalist worldwide.I do not engage myself with activities of the Buhari regime. I thank you all on behalf of Punchline African television. We have done our best and we wish the Nigerian Government takes law and inputs equity, gives Nnamdi Kanu a fair stand or trial and does not trample over his right, does not harm him, does not stop him from him from telling the world how he was abducted. We are eager to know.”
