IPOB: Tears Of A Biafran, As Treasures, Turns Bondage

Obinwannem News IPOB: Tears Of A Biafran, As Treasures, Turns Bondage

The tears of a Biafran as regards the daily sufferings, agony, miseries, etc imposed on them negatively amidst the natural resources endowed on their land can no longer be looked offshore. In situations where a supposed source of blessing turns to become the reverse, one needs not to become quiet nor play cool.

The truth remains that so many people in Nigeria are living in pain and anguish but pretends to be fine in other words, “suffering and smiling”. The Bondage of the people of Eastern Nigeria (Biafrans) took place from the first day that coal was discovered in the region.

The first coal mine in the Enugu area was the Udi mine opened in 1915 which was shut down two years later and replaced with the Iva Valley mine. Enugu became a major coal mining area and the only significant one in West Africa. In 1938 Enugu became the administrative capital of the Eastern Region.

Upon having such an exquisite deposit, Enugu gained little or no attention to development from the center of power to date. Instead, coal became an outdated wealth at the discovery of oil, meanwhile, some advanced countries in the world are still exploring coal.

The Oloibiri Oilfield was discovered on Sunday 15 January 1956 by Shell Darcy. It was the first commercial oil discovery in Nigeria; this discovery ended 50 years of unsuccessful oil exploration in the country by various international oil companies and launched Nigeria into the limelight of the Petro-State.

The oil industry is the backbone of the Nigerian economy. The benefits of crude oil in Nigeria are evident. It provides 90 percent of the country’s export revenues. Oil production brings about a billion investments in the country’s economy as well as the development of related sectors of the economy and infrastructure.

What other bondage is greater than being in a country where the treasure at your backyard becomes bondage?
The eastern region has made her people vulnerable.

On the process of exploring crude oil in the region, heavy trucks drove by Hausa man renders the roads useless, most times causes inferno at the expense of innocent lives.

The federal government gives no attention to the roads, thereby crippling the economic status of such an area. Do you need evidence, well I guess it will better if you toll on the roads of Port Harcourt through Aba? In that case, when last have you traveled through Abia to Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Akwa-Ibom?

In the absence of these mineral resources, an average Biafran is more than filled. After all, the resources at present are not any kind of independence to any of them. But then, Biafrans are in tears, but an outsider might not know. It is better for there not be any resources in the land than live in Bondage for its sake.

The treasures of the land have become a source of tears for the people, this tears cannot be looked over, there is a voice calling for freedom.
