Unidentified men, wearing masks reportedly razed a truck loaded with goods worth millions, along Enugu Esike-Ibagwa road, Nsukka, Enugu State.

Obinwannem News gathered that the goods were completely destroyed by the masked men, but the driver was not hurt.

According to Obinwannem correspondent who monitored the situation, said the incident occurred on Monday morning, as major busy roads such as Oba road, Obollo road leading to the north were deserted following the sit-at-home, which has practically become a normal exercise in the South-East geopolitical zone.

A resident who confirmed the incident, Cletus Ugwu said, “I just came home, though i traveled. The driver should be blamed for not obeying instructions, Wazobia gave every transporters an order not to operate on Mondays, but he was stubborn.

” He was driving when he saw men with mask, they stopped him, as he wanted to revise his truck, and burnt the truck including all the goods, but they did not harm him, this will serve as a lesson to those who refuse to obey the Monday sit-at-home”.

Meanwhile, for five weeks now, the Southeast has been on lockdown as result of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently in detention facility of the Department of States Services DSS. The people of South-East are demanding for his unconditional release.
