The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, in alliance with Ambazonia has directed that all Ambazonia in Biafrans should adhere to the weekly lockdown of businesses and other activities and stay at home from Monday 9th August.

This was disclosed by Chinasa Nworu, IPOB top official Directorate of State (DOS) on his Twitter page on Wednesday. noting that borders connecting Ambazonia and Biafrans are closed. The tweet reads:

“Biafra lockdown on Monday 9/8/21, All Ambazonia in Biafra stay at home. All borders between Amba and Biafra are closed”

“Biafra allies has spoken one mission, one destination! Freedom for us all”.

Chinasa however enjoins all other countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Europeans and other countries residing in Nigerians to comply to the sit at home order.

Recently, the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB on Friday July 30, ordered all Biafrans to observe weekly sit at home protest, which will start from 6.00am to 6.00pm, on Monday 9th August, to demand for the freedom of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Who has been in the custody of the Department of States Services over a month now.

The group called on all Biafrans leaders, politicians to comply and enforce the order, as failure to adhere will result to huge consequences.

However, Southeast leaders has raised concern over the sit-at-home, claiming it will have a devastating effect in the economy of the region as well as the nation.

Senator Enyinaya Abaribe says he is in support of the sit-at-home protest. This was confirmed in his Facebook handle.

“Nobody or tribe has the monopoly of violence, I back IPOB sit-at-home order. Until Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is released. If killer herdsmen can move freely, then no Igbo should be in DSS custody”.
