Obinwannem News I'm not interested in 2023 elections - Good luck Jonathan

Former Nigerian president Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has refuted claims that he would contest the 2023 elections. The former President who presided over the country’s affairs for six years stated he never had any intention to contest for the upcoming presidential election; adding that such claims were merely speculative.

According to him, he is committed to serving God, humanity, Africa and the world to the best of his ability and with all sense of commitment and sincerity.

Goodluck Jonathan paid the governor of Bayelsa state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa a condolence visit after he lost his father, Sir Okorie Okowa. Speaking on the rising cases of insecurities.

He said: “I believe that with the commitment of the governors and the federal government, we will be able to address the issue of insecurity in the country.

“I believe that the President himself is not sleeping and that the governors are not sleeping as well over the insecurity challenge in the country.

“As long as the governors, the President and all the security agencies can work together, Nigeria will be able to cross over this very ugly phase.”
