Idemili South Mayor, Hon. Amaka Obi, accelerates road and drainage projects in Alor.
The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi (Iyom Ife-Abata), joined Deputy Mayor, Hon. Ifeanyi Anakuba, Legislative Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ernest Ezeunyim, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Evaristus Ofido, Councillors, and Stakeholders in accelerating road construction and drainage system at Umuru-Ide village, Alor.
Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi attracted the road through a public-private community partnership (PPCP), which was assisted by the residents of Umuru-Ide village, led by Mr. Chinedu Johnson, the local chairman.
The inspection was conducted to combat gully erosion in the area and to recognize them for embracing public-private community partnerships.
During the inspection, Hon. Obi commended the chairman and the village residents for embracing Governor Soludo’s objective of a sustainable, habitable, and prosperous homeland.
She was pleased with the progress and thanked the contractor for maintaining the quality of the road. She also urged the contractor to stay focused, noting that the road will improve the transportation network and quality of life for surrounding inhabitants.
