Reports reaching Obinwannem news has it that the Nigerian military forces have surrounded the home of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
Troops in several military vans and Armored tanks are currently patrolling the Afaraukwu community in Umuahia, Abia state in what appears to be efforts by the army to control the movement of the people who are mourning the deaths of their traditional ruler and wife, His Royal Majesty, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu.
A state of pandemonium has ensued as army units have been spotted on the streets leading to the King’s Palace in Isiama Afaraukwu and the Bank road which leads to Flow FM.
The entrance to the palace compound has been blocked and armed Nigerian soldiers on foot are seen walking the area and its surroundings. Shops are said to have been shut down and the lives of the people living in these areas have been brought to a standstill.
Funeral for the late King and wife will be held on the 14 February 2020.
