Gunmen unleash mayhem in Sokoto and Kastina, many feared dead

A group of unknown gunmen have reportedly killed many people in a fresh attack on residents of Gidan Madi in Sokoto and Yanteba in Katsina states.

Obinwannem gathered that these horrible attacks have left two policemen and five farmers dead, while others severely injured.

According to the Police Spokesman of Sokoto State, Muhammad Sadiq, a gang of armed men numbering 100 dressed in army camouflage stormed a police station in the town of Gidan Madi in Sokoto state on Thursday, killing two officers and injuring another.

Also, Katsina state police spokesman Gambo Isah has confirmed that a group of suspected cattle thieves launched an attack on the farming village of Yanteba in Katsina state, killing five farmers.

Residents in Gidan Madi told newsmen that the attackers carted away weapons from the police station before withdrawing into the bush.
