The country home of Imo State Commissioner of Information, Honorable Declan Emelumba has been completely razed down by unidentified thugs.
According to information available to Obinwannem News, the attack took place early hours of Sunday, in his community Ubulu Ihejiofor, in Oru West, LGA. The two buildings in the compound, were said to be set ablaze.
There were random shootings, in the once peaceful community, as villagers scampered for safety in nearby bushes, for fear of being victimized.
An eyewitness who confirmed the incident said, “It was a terrific night, nobody slept last night. People are just coming out of the bushes. The shootings was so much, and people had to take cover in the bushes.”
Hon. Emelumba also confirmed the attack, when he was contacted.
Reports also confirmed that soldiers had been deployed in the community.
Similarly, three days ago, it was confirmed that gunmen attacked the neighboring community, Ibiasoegbe, killing three persons and a policeman.
