The Senior Special Assistant on security to Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, in the person of AIG, Christopher Dega (Rtd), was shot dead, in Jos, Plateau by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday.
It was gathered, according to Nations report, that he was shot in the chest several times by the gunmen.
AIG Dega was in Nigeria Police Force, and was twice commander of Police in Borno, and Edo State.
He was from Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
On the same account, the governor, Samuel Ortom, narrowly escaped amidst the feud.
Report stated the incident happened on his way to his farm located at Tyo-mu community in the state, when suspected herdsmen opened fire on him and his aides.
