Obinwannem News Founder of Sosoliso Airlines Victor Ikwuemesi dies in the UK

Sosoliso Airlines Chairman, Victor Ikwuemesi, has passed on after a brief illness in London, a source close to the family said.

The business mogul from Ogidi, Anambra state was admitted into an unnamed London hospital where he received standard oxygen. He died shortly after on Monday.

Chief Victor will be fondly remembered for his never-say-die attitude and strong desire to restore the Southeast to its glory days at a time when the only two airports in the entire geopolitical zone were left unused for years by the government, something many believed was part of a broader systematic plan to reduce the region to a “business and economic desert in Nigeria.” the exact words of the defunct airline Chairman.

Chief Ikwuemesi championed the “thinking home” ideology encouraging other wealthy SouthEasterners to invest back home.

He founded the Sosoliso air in 1994 and the airline operated with its head office at the Enugu Akanu Ibiam airport from 2000 until it was grounded by the Obasanjo administration in 2007.

Rest in Peace true son of the land…Isee
