Subject: Follow-Up on Petition Concerning the Demolition of Ogige Nsukka Market
Your Excellency,
I respectfully write to follow up on my petition concerning the demolition of Ogige Nsukka Market, which was submitted to the Nigeria Police Force and, to the best of my knowledge, was approved for investigation in March last year.
Despite the passage of considerable time, I am not aware of any final outcome or action communicated to the affected persons. Given the public importance of this matter and its impact on traders and the Nsukka community, I respectfully request an update on the status of the investigation and any steps taken in response to the petition.
As a Professor of Law and a public-interest advocate, my objective is to promote accountability, due process, and the rule of law. I fully recognize that the investigation and enforcement of the law are matters within the constitutional mandate of the Nigeria Police Force, and I appreciate the work of the Force in serving the public.
I respectfully request that this matter receive the necessary attention and that I be informed of the current status of the petition at your earliest convenience.
Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem.
Yours faithfully,
Professor Nnaedozie Victor Nwangwu
