Exclusive: Adanma Luke Opens Up on Boat Accident that Led to the Death of Junior Pope Says “I’m Sorry”.
Nigerian actress and producer, Adanma Luke, has made a heartfelt appeal for forgiveness from Nigerians over the tragic boat accident that claimed the lives of actor John Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, and four others.
In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, Luke expressed her deep sorrow and regret over the incident, which occurred in April during the filming of her movie, “The Other Side of Life”.
Luke, who has been facing criticism online since the incident, acknowledged the pain and anger of those who have lost loved ones and asked for forgiveness. “I’m just here to say that I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Nigerians. I’m sorry I took away your loved ones from what people are saying.”
She also opened up about her struggles with depression and grief since the accident, saying “I’m unfortunate. Since I try to be strong, I don’t see myself as strong. I’m so sad that this had to happen on my set.”
Luke’s appeal for forgiveness comes as she faces intense scrutiny and backlash on social media, with many calling for her to take responsibility for the tragic accident.
The boat accident, which occurred during the filming of “The Other Side of Life”, resulted in the deaths of five people, including Junior Pope, and has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood industry.
