A farmer based in Obohia Community, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State lamented over the raiding of his rice farm by the Fulani herders.

The farmer in a video, said he had hoped to harvest his crops (rice) in no distant time, in the fore of the upcoming festive periods, but was disappointed when his farm was marauded by supposed Fulani herds men; such that there was “practically nothing to harvest”.

Speaking in his local dialect, (Igbo), translates that the Fulani herders took their cows to feed on his rice farm.

He said, “I cultivated it [the rice]. Fortunately, it germinated, and I applied fertilizer, subsequently. The plants have been doing well (sic). Now it is time for me to harvest, but Fulani herds men, and their cows invaded my farmland, fed and destroyed what I have laboured.

“I am tearful and heart broken at the moment. The Holy Book said ‘one can only reap from what he sowed,’ but I have worked for another to reap, he said.

“I am not happy because in all my labours, I have only hoped on this farm; but as it stands, I am extremely disappointed, and stranded.

While showing the rice farm, and speaking from the backgroud, he noted the location of the farm along Expressway of Obohia, in Ruota Awgu.

He also quested for advice from his viewers.
