Emene killings is designed to deny S-East 2023 Presidency — Udeogaranya

Chief Charles Udeogaranya has said that the killing of members of Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, by a combined team of Nigerian security operatives was designed to distract and deny the South-East region their rights to the 2023 presidency.

Obinwannem News had reported how the Nigerian security clamped down on peaceful members of IPOB, killing over 21 and arresting 47 at Emene in Enugu State on Sunday.

In reaction, the former 2019 APC Presidential aspirant, condemned the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and southeast governors’ silence over the extrajudicial killings of IPOB members by the members of the Nigeria security agencies in Enugu State.

He said, “their sole intention was to turn the most peaceful and secured zone in Nigeria into a war-torn zone and expressed dismay over the silence of the governors especially the Enugu governor, where the incident happened.”

In disbelief, Udeogaranya expressed shock that a government whose primary constitutional responsibility was to provide security is now involved in unleashing mayhem against a peaceful assembly of her citizens.

Pleading to the people of South-East, he said: “resist the unsolicited provocation and invitation of violence by maintaining our peaceful nature, which is the essential atmospheric infrastructure for development, progress and prosperity.”
