Egyptian online publication, kingfut has raised alarm that six of the Egypt national team players are at risk of missing out on the second game of the World Cup qualifiers playoffs due to suspension.
Egypt secured their spot in the final round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers after topping their group with 14 points ahead of Gabon, Libya, and Angola. Their final game of the group stage game took place on Tuesday afternoon and saw them secure a hard-fought 2-1 win against Gabon.
The playoff round consists of a two-legged fixture against just one team, with the winner booking their ticket to Qatar next year.
The Pharaohs find themselves in a difficult situation ahead of the coming round as six players are at risk of being suspended which are Mostafa Mohamed, Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Fetouh, Tarek Hamed and center back duo Ahmed Hegazi and Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh.
All six of them already have one yellow card and if they do receive a second booking in the first leg, they will be absent from the second game.
The draw for the final round is yet to be announced by the Confederation of African Football “CAF” but is expected to be held by the end of December.
